Brief
The Tyntesfield Summer video had the goal of increasing footfall by capturing ‘the spirit of place’, bringing the warmth of summer and magical wonder to our Facebook audience.
Approach
Having understood the metrics and analytics of our audience, we set out to construct a storyboard of the most appealing shots and areas of the site to cover. Some shots took longer than others, but it was important to us to get the shot, as we knew it would pay off.
After our storyboard was created we hired a drone operator to help us with our vision. Greg (our drone pilot) understood what we were trying to achieve and brilliantly captured what we wanted. We also allowed him room for some improvisation, as we respected his craft. Peter Hall (who I collaborated with on the vision) composed a bespoke piece of music for the film, which I edited the final film to.
Result
The video hit 7k views in 24 hours, creating multiple shares and uploads, with comments from our audience saying they quite literally were ‘going to visit’. It was ranked the highest viewed and engaging video across the whole of the National Trust that year.
